                *** The Lion of Juda ***

                      Written Summer 1964:

Last night with mine own eyes, I beheld the Lion of Juda.

I saw him shake his mane as he walked through the city streets

first glinting, then scowling, now roaring! I feared him not,

though at me he did angrily look: For his was a holy anger

clear white clean through.

And when he was gone, I felt whole again, even brand new.
